Hasselhoff spent seven years as Dr. Snapper Foster on The Young and the Restless before Knight Rider made him the guy who solved crimes with a talking Trans Am from 1982 to 1986. He followed that with Baywatch in 1989, playing lifeguard Mitch Buchannon for over a decade while also producing the show until it ended in 2001.
