4th President of South Korea (1919–2006)
He held South Korea's presidency for six months after Park Chung-hee's assassination — a placeholder in the chaos before the military took over again.
Choi Kyu-hah was born on 16 July 1919 and spent decades as an independent politician in South Korean government. He served as Prime Minister under Park Chung-hee from 1975 to 1979, a position that put him next in line when Park was assassinated in October 1979. Choi became the fourth President of South Korea that year, but his tenure lasted only until 1980 — a brief interval before the military reasserted control. He died on 22 October 2006.
