About this person

Chlöe Charlotte Swarbrick was born 26 June 1994. Her 2016 run for Auckland mayor failed but made noise. A year later the Green Party put her on the list for the 2017 general election and she entered Parliament at 23. In 2020 she won Auckland Central outright, the second Green ever to take an electorate seat and the first without a major party's tacit nod. She held it in 2023. By March 2024 she was co-leader of the party, carrying portfolios in mental health, drug law reform, revenue, climate, and finance.
