In June 1999, she was appointed a recorder or part-time judge. Blair was the third Chancellor of Liverpool John Moores University from 1999 to 2006. She is also Governor of the London School of Economics and the Open University. Blair was appointed a Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) in the 2013 New Year Honours for services to women and charity.
