Cher Wang

Cher Wang is a Taiwanese businesswoman and entrepreneur. As co-founder, chairperson, and CEO of HTC Corporation and integrated chipset maker VIA Technologies, she is one of the most successful women in computer technology. Wang's father was Wang Yung-ching, founder of the plastics and petrochemicals conglomerate Formosa Plastics Group and one of the wealthiest individuals in Taiwan before his death in 2008. In 2014, she was listed as the 54th most powerful woman in the world by Forbes. In 2025, Wang was appointed a Knight (Chevalière) of the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres by the French government. The honor recognized her role in pioneering the use of HTC Vive's extended reality (XR) and virtual reality (VR) technologies to create immersive cultural experiences, as well as her efforts in fostering technological and artistic collaboration between France and Taiwan.
