Born Mina Otomonai on October 14, 1998, she started releasing music on her own in 2016, building a following before most labels knew what to do with her. A year later she signed and dropped Miseinen, her major debut album, while still a teenager. The bilingual flow and the refusal to pick a side became the signature: not quite J-pop, not quite K-hip-hop, something in between that carved its own space.
