Brooke Rollins came out of Texas A&M with a degree in agricultural development and a law degree from UT Austin, then cut her teeth as deputy general counsel on Rick Perry's 2002 gubernatorial campaign. By 2003 she was running the Texas Public Policy Foundation, a perch she held until Trump tapped her in 2018 to co-direct the Office of American Innovation. Two years later she moved up to acting director of the Domestic Policy Council after Joe Grogan resigned. When Trump lost in 2020, she and Larry Kudlow founded the America First Policy Institute, where Rollins served as president and quietly prepared the architecture for a second transition. That work paid off in November 2024 when Trump named her agriculture secretary. The Senate confirmed her in February 2025.
