Biography
About
Émile Salomon Wilhelm Herzog was born on 26 July 1885. At some point he adopted the pen name André Maurois and made it his public face. He wrote under that name for the better part of the twentieth century, building a body of work that carried him through two world wars and into the postwar era. He died on 9 October 1967, having lived 82 years — nearly all of them as someone else on the page.
