Byzantine emperor
He inherited the Byzantine throne at eleven and was dead at thirteen, never ruling a day on his own — regents held the power through all of it.
Born 14 September 1169, Alexios II Komnenos became Byzantine emperor in 1180 while still a child. Too young to govern, he remained a figurehead as regents controlled the state in his name. His reign lasted three years, ending with his death in September 1183 before he ever reached adulthood or took real command of the empire.
