Zyndram of Maszkowice

Zyndram of Maszkowice was a Polish knight, nobleman, and military commander of the late 14th and early 15th centuries. Serving as Sword-bearer of Kraków under King Władysław II Jagiełło, he rose to prominence during the Polish–Lithuanian–Teutonic War, most notably as the commander of the left wing of the Polish-Lithuanian army and leader of the prestigious Kraków Banner at the Battle of Grunwald in 1410. A member of the Słońce coat of arms family, Zyndram likely descended from a sołtys lineage based in Maszkowice, Lesser Poland.
