A striker who scored across four decades and collected 34 trophies while speaking about himself in the third person - Zlatan turned outsize ego and acrobatic finishing into a self-fulfilling prophecy, leaving cult status and a 35-yard bicycle kick in his wake.

About this person

Zlatan Ibrahimović began at Malmö FF in 1999 and moved to Ajax two years later, winning two Eredivisie titles before European giants came calling. He bounced from Juventus to Inter Milan, where three consecutive Serie A titles made him a phenomenon, then to Barcelona in one of the world's most expensive transfers - only to leave after one season for AC Milan, winning another scudetto. In 2012 he joined Paris Saint-Germain and broke a 19-year title drought, becoming their all-time top scorer across four straight Ligue 1 crowns. He won the EFL Cup and Europa League at Manchester United before a serious knee injury derailed him in 2017, resurfaced in MLS with LA Galaxy, then returned to AC Milan in 2020 to claim a fifth Serie A title in 2022. He retired in 2023 as Sweden's all-time leading scorer with 62 goals and the owner of a bicycle kick against England that won the 2013 Puskás Award.
