Yakov Matveevich Eliashberg is an American mathematician who was born in Leningrad, USSR. He is the Herald L. and Caroline L. Ritch Professor of Mathematics at Stanford University. His research interests are differential topology, symplectic topology, and contact topology. He was awarded many prizes for his work, including the Wolf Prize in 2020.
