Willis Gibson crashed Tetris. Not his console - the game itself. On December 21, 2023, the 13-year-old pushed the 1989 NES cartridge past every threshold anyone thought existed, triggering a kill screen on level 157 that no human had ever seen.

About this person
Gibson picked up Tetris at 11 after falling into YouTube videos about the game, and within two years he was placing third at the 2023 Classic Tetris World Championship using the rolling technique. The crash came months later in his bedroom in Stillwater, Oklahoma - a feat that pulled him into interviews with The New York Times and Good Morning America, a meetup with Logan Paul, and eventually a documentary. He competed in two more world championships after that, placing third again in the second, and in 2024 he was inducted into the Oklahoma Sports Hall of Fame. He's now considered one of the best American players in the game's competitive scene.
