William, Duke of Saxe-Weimar was a duke of Saxe-Weimar. He was the fifth child, but the third surviving son of Johann II, Duke of Saxe-Weimar, and Dorothea Maria of Anhalt. He was the brother of Bernard of Saxe-Weimar, a prominent Protestant military leader during the Thirty Years' War, and of Ernest I, Duke of Saxe-Gotha-Altenburg, later known as "The Pious".
