German General and Knight's Cross recipient (1894-1941)
Walter Hugo Reinhard Neumann-Silkow was a German officer and general during World War II who commanded several divisions. He was a recipient of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross of Nazi Germany. Neumann-Silkow died of wounds on 9 December 1941 at a military hospital in Italian Libya. On 24 July 1943, he was posthumously promoted to Generalleutnant with effect from 1 February 1942 and rank seniority (RDA) from 1 December 1941.
