Valentina Golubenko is a Russian-born chess player playing for Estonia and Croatia, holding the FIDE title of Woman Grandmaster (WGM). She was world champion in the girls under 18 category in 2008. Although she spent her early life playing in Estonia, Golubenko had moved to Croatia as she was not qualified to represent Estonia owing to her Russian citizenship.
