Spanish Friar Minor, Catholic missionar in Mexico, Novohispanic mesoamericanist
Toribio of Benavente, also known as Motolinía, was a Franciscan missionary and one of the famous Twelve Apostles of Mexico who arrived in New Spain in May 1524.
