Theophilus of Edessa

Theophilus of Edessa, also known as Theophilus ibn Tuma and Thawafil, was a medieval astrologer and scholar in Mesopotamia. In the later part of his life he was the court astrologer to the Abbasid caliph al-Mahdi.
