King of Numidia
Syphax was a king of the Masaesyli tribe of western Numidia during the last quarter of the 3rd century BC. His story is told in Livy's Ab Urbe Condita. He ruled over a territory extending from present day Constantine to Moulouya. The territory from the Moulouya and the Strait of Gibraltar and Tingis they were under the influence of Syphax in some periods.
