Born 13 September 1971, Stella Nina McCartney is the daughter of Paul McCartney and photographer Linda McCartney. She apprenticed under a series of haute couture houses before launching her own label in 1997. The brand carved out new ground: vegan production methods at luxury scale, proving that animal-free design could hold its own in high fashion. Since 2004 she has also designed in collaboration with Adidas, extending the approach into sportswear. The work is as much manifesto as wardrobe.
