Shu Chien is a Taiwanese-American physiologist and bioengineer. His work on the fluid dynamics of blood flow has had a major impact on the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular diseases such as atherosclerosis. Chien is currently President of the Biomedical Engineering Society.
