Sayyad Aran or Sayyad Salahly is an Azerbaijani social-political figure, candidate of philological sciences (2005), one of the founders of the New Azerbaijan Party, writer-publicist, ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of the Republic of Azerbaijan of the first class. He has been a member of the National Assembly (Azerbaijan), deputy of the 1st and 2nd convocation of the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan in 1995-2005, first deputy chairman of the State Committee on Affairs with Religious Associations of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
