Sara Gómez

Sara Gómez, also known as Sarita Gómez, was a Cuban film director and screenwriter. She was a member of the Cuban Institute of Cinematographic Art and Industry during her early years, where she was one of only two black filmmakers, as well as the institute's first—and in her lifetime, Cuba's only—female director. Gómez is best known for her only feature-length film De Cierta Manera.
