Oleksandr "s1mple" Kostyliev sits at the top of a debate that doesn't really exist anymore: who's the best Counter-Strike player ever. Three years ranked No. 1 by HLTV, two more at No. 2, and a Major title that took a decade to claim - the gap between him and second place isn't close.

About this person
Kostyliev was born 2 October 1997 in Ukraine and joined the professional Counter-Strike scene young, building a reputation on raw mechanical skill that seemed to break the game's ceiling. He spent most of his career with Natus Vincere, racking up international tournament wins but chasing the one trophy that mattered: a Major. HLTV named him the world's best player in 2018, then again in 2021 and 2022, with runner-up finishes in 2019 and 2020 - a five-year stretch of dominance unmatched in the game's history. The Major finally came at PGL Stockholm 2021, where he took both the title and MVP. He now plays for BC.Game Esports, having left Na'Vi after years as its cornerstone.
