In 2025, Friendship won The Earthshot Prize in the “Fix Our Climate” category.Khan advocates an integrated approach to development that addresses multiple sectors, including climate action, health, education, disaster management, justice, economic development, and the preservation of cultural heritage, with the aim of addressing multiple areas of need rather than focusing on a single issue. Established in 2002, According to the organisation, Friendship has served more than 75 million people since its establishment and delivers programmes to over 7.5 million people annually in areas including service delivery, community development, and climate adaptation, through programmes related to saving lives, climate adaptation and community development.
