Robert William Kastenmeier was an American lawyer and politician who served as the U.S. representative from Wisconsin's 2nd congressional district from 1959 until 1991. A member of the Democratic Party, he was an early opponent of the Vietnam War, and later was a key sponsor of the Copyright Act of 1976 and the Electronic Communications Privacy Act of 1986.
