Richard Friedrich Johannes Pfeiffer FRS was a German physician and bacteriologist. Pfeiffer is remembered for his many fundamental discoveries in immunology and bacteriology, particularly for the discovery of endotoxins and the formulation of a vaccine for typhoid fever.
