Rania Al-Abbasi is a dentist and Syrian national chess champion. She was forcibly disappeared by Ba'athist Syria Military Intelligence along with her husband Abdul Rahman Yasin and their six children in 2013. There has been no communication or information regarding Rania or Abdul-Rahman since their disappearance. Their children were Dima, 14, Entisar, 13, Najah, 11, Alaa, 8, Ahmed, 6, and Layan, 2. The children are believed to be dead.
