David Nuriev was born in Baku on June 10, 1981, and later took the stage name Ptaha - Russian for "little bird." He rose through the ranks of Russian hip-hop as a member of Centr, a group that anchored his early reputation in the scene. After his time with Centr ended, he continued as a solo artist, holding onto the alias and the following it had earned him.
