My reflection makes me think even harder and pray even more fervently for those in conflict today, for those family’s [sic] torn apart by the horrors they have witnessed.

Andrew Albert Christian Edward Mountbatten-Windsor was born 19 February 1960, second in line to the throne. He joined the Royal Navy in 1979, saw combat as a helicopter pilot during the Falklands War, and rose to command a warship before leaving the service in 2001. He married Sarah Ferguson in 1986 - made Duke of York that day - and they had two daughters, Beatrice and Eugenie, before divorcing in 1996. From 2001 to 2011 he served as the UK's Special Representative for International Trade and Investment, resigning after scrutiny of his expenses and associations. His long friendship with the American financier and child sex offender Jeffrey Epstein became public scandal when Virginia Giuffre said in 2014 that Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell had trafficked her to him; Andrew denied wrongdoing and settled her U.S. civil suit in 2022 without admitting liability. Elizabeth II stripped his military affiliations and patronages that year; Charles III removed his remaining styles and honours in 2025 and he left Royal Lodge for private quarters at Sandringham. Following the release of further Epstein files in early 2026, he was arrested on suspicion of misconduct in public off
