Pélagie Gbaguidi

Pélagie Gbaguidi is a Beninese multi-media artist who lives and works in Brussels. Gbaguidi self-identifies as a contemporary griot, using her artistic mediums to create pieces related to colonial and post-colonial history, trauma, and the reframing of stories, experiences, and identities which have been overlooked in these historical legacies. Her work is included in the permanent collections of cultural institutions such as the Mémorial ACTe centre in Guadeloupe, Illinois Holocaust Museum & Education Center in Chicago, Casa África in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Artothèque of Saint Denis de la Réunion, Mu.ZEE in Belgium, and Kanal - Centre Pompidou in Belgium.
