Nicholas Gillingham, is an English former competitive swimmer, active in the 1980s and 1990s. Born in Staffordshire, he represented Great Britain in the Olympics, FINA World Championships and European Championships, as well as representing England in the Commonwealth Games. Medaling in two Olympic Games in 1988 and 1992, he was a World, European and Commonwealth Champion in his specialist event, the 200 metres Breaststroke. His career broadly overlapped with fellow British breaststroker and Olympic 100 metre breaststroke champion, Adrian Moorhouse who's former 100 metres Breaststroke World Record he broke in 1992 where he topped the World Rankings.
