Russian diplomat (1857-1914)
Baron Nicholas Genrikhovich Hartwig was a Russian diplomat and government official who served as the ambassador to Persia (1906–1908) and Serbia (1909–1914). An ardent pan-Slavist, he was said to be "more Serbian than the Serbs" and during the period prior to World War I was believed by many to exercise tremendous influence over the foreign policy of the Serbian government.
