Nicholas Dockery is an American soldier who was awarded the Medal of Honor for actions in the War in Afghanistan. Born in Indianapolis, Indiana, Dockery enlisted in the Army National Guard before attending the United States Military Academy. He deployed to Afghanistan in 2012, where he and his unit were ambushed in Kapisa Province. Dockery rallied American and Afghan troops to repel the attack, while simultaneously protecting wounded allies. Dockery remained with the US Army until 2026, completing Special Forces training and rising to the rank of major. He served as a White House fellow in 2024, and in 2026 received the Medal of Honor for his actions in Kapisa.
