About this person

Morten Harket was born 14 September 1959 and cut his teeth on the Oslo club circuit singing for a blues outfit called Souldier Blue. In 1982 he joined A-ha, and three years later their single "Take On Me" topped charts internationally, turning a pencil-sketch video and a soaring vocal into one of the decade's defining moments. The band has released 11 studio albums as of 2024, and Harket has put out six solo records along the way. King Harald named him a Knight First Class of the Order of St. Olav for his services to Norwegian music and his international success.
