Williamina Dean was a New Zealander who was found guilty of infanticide and hanged. She remains the only woman to have had the sentence of death executed in New Zealand. Several other women have been sentenced to death in New Zealand, but all of them had their sentences commuted to either life or long-duration imprisonment.
