Born 15 July 1992, Mikuru Asakura came up through Japan's smaller promotions - Road Fighting Championship, Fighting Network Rings, DEEP - where he claimed titles at 143 and 154 pounds before settling into Rizin Fighting Federation's featherweight class. As his fight record grew, so did a parallel project: a YouTube channel that turned training clips, fight prep, and the margins of an MMA career into content that found serious traction in Japan. The older brother of fellow fighter Kai Asakura, Mikuru now splits his public life between the cage and the upload schedule, each one amplifying the other.
