Miguel Brito

Miguel Brito Miranda was a Bolivian civil and mining engineer, university professor, and a pioneer of early Bolivian football footballer who played as a half-back. He was co-founder and a first captain of Club Bolivar Nimbles, and a squad member of the historic Bolivia national team at the inaugural 1930 FIFA World Cup in Uruguay. He spent his whole life in the city of Oruro, where he left lasting legacy in the country's early sports scene. His life was violently cut short in 1944. when he became victim of extrajudicial execution under the authoritarian regime of President Gualberto Villaroel.
