Michael R. Burns

Michael Burns is an American entertainment executive who joined the board of directors of Lionsgate in 1999 and became Vice Chairman of Lionsgate in March 2000, a position he continues to hold. During his 27-year tenure, Lionsgate has grown from a fledgling independent studio into a diversified global entertainment company. In May 2025, Lionsgate’s studio business and STARZ streaming business separated into two independent, publicly-traded companies, Lionsgate and STARZ, and Mr. Burns became non-Executive Chairman of STARZ’s Board of Directors while remaining Vice Chairman of Lionsgate.
