Michael Gabras was a Byzantine official and writer. A lowly scribe in the imperial chancery, Gabras' life is relatively obscure except through his voluminous correspondence. Anthony Bryer, who studied the Byzantine Empire, called him "the most prolific of all Byzantine letter writers."
