Crimean Khan
A khan who ruled Crimea three separate times across five decades — losing the throne twice, reclaiming it twice, then holding it for nearly forty years until his death.
Meñli I Giray was born in 1445, the sixth son of Hacı I Giray. He first became khan of the Crimean Khanate in 1466 but lost power quickly. He returned in 1469 and ruled until 1475, when he was deposed a second time. In 1478 he seized the throne again and held it for thirty-seven years, finally dying in office in 1515. His reign spanned the better part of half a century, interrupted only by the two intervals when rivals pushed him out.
