Born and raised in Los Angeles, Meghan Markle started acting after Northwestern University and spent seven seasons playing Rachel Zane on the legal drama Suits while running The Tig, a lifestyle blog that drew her into charity work on women's issues. She divorced film producer Trevor Engelson in 2014. Four years later she married Prince Harry and became the Duchess of Sussex, but the couple stepped down as working royals in January 2020 and moved to Southern California with their two children, Archie and Lilibet. They launched Archewell Inc., sat for a widely watched Oprah Winfrey interview in March 2021, and she has since written a children's book, hosted the podcast Archetypes, appeared in the Netflix series Harry & Meghan, and launched the lifestyle brand As Ever in April 2025.
