Mectilde of the Blessed Sacrament was a French Benedictine nun, mystic, spiritual writer, and founder of the Benedictines of Perpetual Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament. One of the major representatives of seventeenth-century French Catholic spirituality, she developed a form of Benedictine Eucharistic mysticism centred on perpetual adoration, abandonment to divine providence, and interior self-emptying before God.
