Matti Tapani Kuparinen is a Finnish former ice hockey player who played as a centre. He played in the Finnish Elite League for HC Ässät Pori, Kalevan Pallo, and IFK Helsingfors in a total of 616 regular-season games with 253 points and 59 playoff and regulation games with 28 points. Kuparinen served as the captain of his youth club HC Ässät from 2007 to 2011 and from 2016 to 2018. He won the Finnish Elite League silver medal with the team in 2006. Kuparinen also played one season in the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) with Avangard Omsk and EBEL with HC Bolzano. He was known for his playing style as a two-way centre.
