One half of The Hardy Boyz, the tag team that turned ladders and tables into must-see television during wrestling's Attitude Era. Later reinvented himself with the surreal "Broken" gimmick - a DELETE-shouting, drone-filming fever dream that became a cultural moment in its own right.

About this person

Matthew Moore Hardy was born September 23, 1974, and rose with brother Jeff in the late 1990s as The Hardy Boyz, helping resurrect WWE's tag division and defining the Tables, Ladders, and Chairs match format. The brothers collected 15 world tag titles between them. Hardy pivoted to singles work in the early 2000s with his "Version 1" character, which won Best Gimmick from the Wrestling Observer Newsletter in 2003. In 2016, while at TNA Impact Wrestling, he debuted the "Broken" persona - an eccentric, operatic character that earned the same award and later became "Woken" Matt Hardy back in WWE. Along the way he claimed the ECW Championship, two TNA World Heavyweight titles, and belts across the United States, Hardcore, European, and Cruiserweight ranks. Now signed to TNA again, he's a three-time world champion and a five-time TNA World Tag Team Champion with Jeff, still working the ropes across a fourth decade.
