About this person

Hurd took the helm at NCR in the early 2000s before moving to Hewlett-Packard in 2005, where he served as chairman, CEO, and president until his departure in 2010. He also held board seats at News Corporation and Globality during that stretch. After leaving HP, he joined Oracle Corporation and rose to CEO, a position he held until his death on October 18, 2019. Born January 1, 1957, he spent his career moving between the command decks of large enterprises, a pattern that made him one of the most-rehired executives in Silicon Valley history.
