Marinus was a Byzantine Neoplatonist philosopher, mathematician and rhetorician born in Flavia Neapolis, Palaestina Secunda. He was a student of Proclus in Athens. His surviving works are an introduction to Euclid's Data; a Life of Proclus, and two astronomical texts.
