Maria Berlinska went from the Maidan protests to the Donbas frontline flying reconnaissance drones, then turned that into a national program training thousands of Ukrainians in aerial warfare - first in her free school, then through Victory Drones after the 2022 invasion.

Born in 1988, Berlinska joined the Revolution of Dignity in 2014 and volunteered for the war in Donbas as a drone operator. When she came back she opened a free school to teach aerial reconnaissance to military personnel and volunteers. Starting in 2015 she co-founded the Women's Veteran Movement and coordinated the Invisible Battalion - three reports on recognition, reintegration, and harassment of military women - plus two films on veterans. That work led to a series of laws granting women equality in Ukraine's armed forces. After Russia's full-scale invasion in 2022, she founded Victory Drones, one of Ukraine's largest drone education projects, and later Victory Neurones, focused on cognitive warfare capabilities.
