Mala Bakhtiar previously served as the chief of the Executive Bureau of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan. Currently, he is the joint leader of the Supreme Political Council of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), alongside Kosrat Rasul Ali.
