Linda McMahon co-founded Titan Sports with her husband Vince in 1980 and served as president, then CEO, steering the company's expansion into what became World Wrestling Entertainment. She launched civic programs like Get R.E.A.L. and SmackDown! Your Vote, and stepped into the ring herself for storylines including a feud with Vince that peaked at WrestleMania X-Seven. In 2009 she left WWE to run for U.S. Senate in Connecticut as a Republican, losing to Richard Blumenthal in 2010 and Chris Murphy in 2012. Trump named her Administrator of the Small Business Administration in 2016; she was confirmed 81-19 in February 2017 and served until April 2019, when she departed to work on his re-election campaign. She founded the America First Policy Institute in 2021. Trump nominated her for Secretary of Education in November 2024, and she was confirmed 51-45 on March 3, 2025, taking office that day.
